The 2022 Qatar World Cup will be the first-ever with a s*x ban as the Qatar government issues some rules to be adhered to by players and fans as defaulters will be sentenced to seven years in prison. Public drinking, parties, and other social events would also not be allowed during the tournament in the predominantly Muslim country. According to the Daily Star, the country plans to enforce the ban and not exclude foreign fans who would be in the country for the duration of the tournament. “S*x is very much off the menu, unless you are coming as a husband and wife team. There definitely will be no one-night stands at this tournament. There will be no partying at all really. Actor Yomi Fabiyi has cautioned his colleague Tonto Dikeh over her fi#ht with Journalist Kemi Olunloyo. He said, silence is golden and instead of engaging in a fight, she could have reported to the police or approached the court for a redress. He added that, it’s not every issue people raised with you that you respond to, taking clue from the movie “Oko Iyabo” that he did, which was criticized by Tonto herself. He just choose  to ignore it and chatted with her as if nothing happened. He also criticized her for mocking her ex over the demolition of his house in Abuja.

Beatrice Nwaji recently clocked a new age and she got a whoppping 4.5 Million Naira excluding gifts from her loyal and active fanbase. She made this disclosure in an interview with PUNCH. In her words; “In total, I received N4.5m. Some people sent money directly to my team. I got to know that N2.5m was a gift from a supporter who is based abroad. She, together with her brother and friends organised the birthday party. Honestly I was not expecting anything because I thought everyone was busy facing and solving their own problems. However, with this show of love, I am really grateful and this gives me strength, knowing that people still support me, though they are not noise makers. I feel really happy and strengthened.”

FG IMPOSES NEW TAX ON TELEPHONE CALLS

The Federal Government has introduced a new tax on phone calls to fund free healthcare for the Vulnerable Group in Nigeria.   The telecom tax is the equivalent of a minimum of one kobo per second for phone calls to boost the funds required to finance free healthcare for the vulnerable group in Nigeria.  This is contained in the National Health Insurance Authority Bill 2021 signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on May 19, 2022. The law defines the vulnerable group as children under five, pregnant women, the aged, physically and mentally challenged persons, and the indigent “as may be defined from time to time”. It specified that the money from the vulnerable group fund shall be expended to provide subsidy for health insurance coverage of vulnerable persons as determined by the council; and for the payment of health insurance premiums for the indigent.
